Basic information – Frequently asked questions
Who is rafting for?
For all those who want to experience an adrenaline rush on white water, but above all a lot of fun. The best part of whitewater rafting that separates it from other action sports is the opportunity to share the joy of the action with loved ones and friends.
What do we ride?
Rafting is done on inflatable boats of different sizes. For complete beginners, we recommend a raft for 4-10 people, where everyone sits together with a guide in one boat, so they do not have to worry about steering, just occasionally paddle on the guide’s instruction. For more experienced paddlers, there is the possibility to paddle the tour in canoes, two-seater inflatable boats. The guide is not present in the canoe, but he is in the accompanying boat, so in case of capsizing or any other problem he is always nearby, ready to help.
The choice of boat type also depends on the water level.
Prerequisites for white water rafting
- Swimmers – participants are dressed in wetsuits, life jackets and helmets, but even this requires basic swimming skills.
- Children from 7 years old – this rule is a given, we can’t do anything about it. For older children the above condition applies – they must know the basics of swimming, and children from 7-18 years old only with the accompaniment of parents or another person responsible for the children.
- Physical fitness, no restrictions on movement – it is an adrenaline sport, it is necessary to move on slippery rocks, less accessible places,…
- Not suitable for people under the influence of alcohol and drugs – this simply does not belong on the water.
When is the Salza River navigable?
From the end of April to the middle of October in all weather conditions, rain is not a problem. At the beginning of the season you need to count on a bit more water and therefore adrenaline (there is more water due to melting snow). On the other hand, you can enjoy summer relaxation and swimming (but less water) in the summer months.
For safety reasons, we do not ride in high water (flood level)!!
